Water Festivals/Water Awareness Week

Protection Activity: Education, Outreach, and Public Programs

Water festivals and events offer water education to the general public or schools through education fairs, poetry contests, and educational materials and activities. In Idaho, Water Awareness Week and water festivals are sponsored across the state by the Idaho Water Education Foundation and are identified in the Idaho Education Standards for grades 5 and 6. These water events are organized by different water districts and DEQ regions across the state and are planned and completed by local teams.
