Details: Idaho wastewater operators and other water professionals are invited to attend. Each class in this series will provide current operational staff with complete knowledge of wastewater fundamentals. This class can help prep for the wastewater treatment examinations. The online wastewater school provides operators with a review of the current practice for each topic in wastewater treatment. A review of wastewater math. The first hour of this course helps operators be more successful when approaching math problems by teaching strategies that might be used to solve many of the math problems operators are likely to encounter in their day-to-day work and on certification exams. Attendees will learn to dissect word problems to determine which formula(s) are needed and when unit conversions are required. Attendees will learn the order of operations and how to rearrange common equations. The second two hours walk attendees through various types of wastewater math problems, including unit conversions, finding volumes of tanks and pipes, hydraulic detention time, velocity, and horsepower calculations. This is the final course in this series.
