Details: Idaho wastewater operators and other water professionals are invited to attend. Each class in this series will provide current operational staff with complete knowledge of wastewater fundamentals. This class can help prep for the wastewater treatment examinations. The online wastewater school provides operators with a review of the current practice for each topic in wastewater treatment. This microbiology course gives a broad overview of the role of different microorganisms present in wastewater treatment processes and how the dominance of one species over another, especially filaments, can be an indicator to direct plant troubleshooting. We will discuss the conditions that promote the growth of different types of protozoa, metazoa, and commonly activated sludge filaments.
