Details: The wastewater treatment process is a biological process. The microorganisms are responsible for removing the nutrients from the wastewater; therefore, it is essential to understand the conditions that allow them to do their best work and to do their best to create these conditions. This webinar is the first one in a series of February webinars covering various topics on Wastewater Microbiology. In this webinar, the participants will learn the role of bacteria, protozoa, and metazoans in the treatment process and the conditions that allow them to do their best work removing nutrients from the wastewater. The participant will also learn how simple microbiological observations can evaluate process efficiency, anticipate potential treatment system upsets, and troubleshoot and correct existing treatment system problems. This is a four-hour class that is taught in two parts. We encourage participants to attend both sessions; however, we have the option of only attending one session.
