This map only contains information and burn restrictions based on air quality standards and impacts. This map does not include burn restrictions triggered due to fire safety concerns. DEQ restrictions are in accordance with IDAPA 58.01.01.550-562, 600-624. It is your responsibility to ensure no additional burn restrictions are currently in place prior to burning. 

  • Contact your local fire district, fire department or sheriff's office prior to ignition.
  • Contact your local city/county office for information on local burn ordinances.
  • Contact your local Tribe for air quality and burn restrictions within Tribal reservation boundaries.

Reduce Your Smoke Impacts: 

  • Burn between the hours of 11am and 4pm
  • Do not allow piles to smolder. 
  • Burn when wind speed is less than 12 mph. 
  • Do not burn leaves and grass clippings. 
  • Burn dry natural vegetation. 
  • Stop burning if your smoke is settling near the ground. 
  • Don’t leave fire unattended
  • Ensure the fire has plenty of oxygen.
