Welcome to SWA Online
Welcome to Idaho Source Water Assessment (SWA ) Online! SWAs provide information on the potential contaminant threats to public drinking water sources. Use the search fields below to find SWA data for public water systems in Idaho. Or you can search using the State Dynamic Map. To find out more about source water in Idaho click here.
You do not need to use a wildcard to search below. You can enter partial information as search criteria, and all search results containing that criteria will be returned.
PWS # - A public water system (PWS) supplies drinking water to at least 25 people or has at least 15 service connections. Water systems not meeting one or both of these requirements are considered private systems.
Susceptibility Score - DEQ determines the susceptibility to potential contamination for each well, spring, or surface water intake in a public water system. Before analyzing susceptibility, DEQ defines the delineated source water assessment area, which is the physical area contributing water to the well or surface water intake. Once completed, susceptibility scores are updated upon request by the PWS. Note that maximum contaminant levels (MCL’s), detections, and potential contaminants can change over time and are not automatically updated in the score.
PCI - DEQ conducts a potential contaminant inventory (PCI) to locate and describe facilities, land uses, and environmental conditions within the delineated source water assessment area that are potential sources of contamination to ground water or surface water. The PCI is one of three factors used in the susceptibility analysis to evaluate the overall potential contamination risk to a drinking water supply. Each PCI is updated annually.
SWA Delineation - The source water assessment (SWA) delineation is the physical area contributing water to the well, spring, or surface water intake.
