Contact Type Definitions

Administrative Contact (AC) The individual who manages the affairs of the public water system (PWS). (only one per system).
Designated Operator (DO) An operator of a PWS, designated by the system owner, who holds a valid license at a class equal to or greater than the drinking water system classification, who is in responsible charge of the PWS.
Emergency Contact (EC) Any individual who knows the inner workings of the PWS and could be of assistance during an emergency that would have an effect on the PWS. The EC is often times the DO or the AC
Financial Contact (FC) The individual who deals with the finances of the PWS.
Legal Contact (LC) The individual who would legally represent the PWS.
Operator (OP) An operator of a public drinking water system who may hold a valid license at a class equal to or greater than the drinking water system classification, designated by the system owner to replace and to perform the duties of the designated operator when the designated operator is not available or accessible.
Owner (OW) The person, company, corporation, association, or other organizational entity that holds legal title to the PWS, and that is ultimately responsible for the PWS operation.
Physical Location Contact (PL) The individual who represents a specific facility within the PWS.
Sampler (SA) The individual who is responsible for taking samples at the PWS and/or would be the contact for when a sample has not been taken.
